Ash is a trio of veteran musicians, who have reunited with a common purpose of exploring the musical realm as an acoustic band. These three journeymen formerly played together in the North Okanagan in a full electric band.
After a five year lay off from playing together, the concept was launched to perhaps feature their vocal skills in an acoustic format, where the vocals would not be buried in a full band sound.
As the project took shape, the band’s interest focused on the music of some great seventies vocal bands such as Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Poco, and Firefall. Combined with songs from these bands, Ash found themselves working on their own original material as well.
Ash has also just recently released their debut CD featuring 10 original compositions.
Ash is:
Gerry Brunelle: Acoustic Bass and vocals
Dick Markin: Guitar, Harmonica, Mandolin and vocals
Ross Marshall: Guitar, Sax, Tinwhistle, and vocals
